Default Drift boat launch near Barton?

Are there any alternative drift boat launch locations near Barton park on the Clackamas? I like that drift but I don't want to wait until 6 a.m. when the park opens the gates. I am willing to try "creative" launch sites as long as they aren't too extreme.

Thanks,
D.

Where is Feldheimer? Is that the unimproved lauch by the powerlines? If so How do you get there and do you have to pay?

On a seperate note, I have been on the Clack floating lower McIver to Carver 4 times since mid-may with zero luck. It seems last year this time I was catching steelhead regularly at Upper McIver park. Anybody having luck for Steelies on the Clack?

Feldheimer is at the end of Feldheimer road of Springwater road. It's on the left a mile or two before you get the McIver. It will put you on the river a mile or two above the power lines.

As for the summers, the run this year for the Clack was a flop, also the flows are way down from last year so the fish will be holding in different water than last year.

The summers are there, they are just very spooky. They rolled into the lower Clack a few weeks ago, finally in some fishable numbers.

And the fish are hiding in some goofy spots too. Seems like the water is more September like, than late June. With our typical summer rains( or lack there of), September could be looking really skinny.

Get the Gluvit ready !

How tricky is the stretch from Felheimer to Barton? Seems like I've read that it's pretty nasty.

Thanks,
D.

the first turn below the ramp is the one that gets talked about the most. at regular flows it's pretty skinny. at low flows, you have to rope it. i don't really know about the rest of the drift. i did it at 13' and didn't find any problems but 11' makes it very different.
