That is a lot better than the mono type net we pulled off a shacker the other day. It had been there a while since the skin had grown around it. We cut the net and pull the pieces out of the fish.

Adding the "jewelery" as you put it helps those that are tring to figure out what where these fish go and how healthy the stocks are.

We caught a small shaker last week that had a loop of monofilament around the top of its head and mouth. It too was beginning to have skin growing over it. We cut the knot and the other side of the line to get it out of it's mouth. Didn't want to pull the line that had skin growing over it because it was starting to bleed.
