Nope Pete- it's not that! The fish counter at Bonne just turned 50 and keeps fallin' asleep on the job.

Don't ask me how I know that.

Default Shad numbers ... mystery solved

Have you looked at the shad numbers?

_____Bonneville________Dalles
5/28____42914__________122495
5/29____67219__________109248
5/30____65687__________116107
5/31___125569___________93254
6/1____185667__________150537
6/2_____94367__________134114
6/3_____66425__________138744
Total___772644__________980191

So, what's going on?

Here's the answer! The locks are leaking more than usual, especially along the bottom, creating a soft current the fish are nosing into. When the locks open, the fish flood in and take the elevator, instead of the ladder.
