Snow, rain, hail, wind, and oh yeah....FISH
Finally got the chance to fish with John, the Fishin' Magician Saturday. The first time we planned on going a while back in my boat, his daughter got sick and he couldn't make it. This time everyone was well, and we took John's beautiful Clackacraft.
We saw every type of weather there is. Snow, rain, hail, wind, and more rain. I am not sure we saw the sun though. We both agreed it was the worst weather either of us had ever drift boated in. Nothing better than sittin' up front in 40 MPH wind while John rowed so I could keep fishing. Glad he was on the sticks, because I know how hard it is to row in that kind of wind. John did a great job and got us into 3 Steelhead. We kept these 2 and released 1 darker winter fish.
Sorry that we don't have a picture at the river, but there was no way we were gonna take a digital camera out in the 'perfect storm'. No I don't think John reads GQ before choosing his fishing wardrobe. Nice pants John, not sure if they are as nice as the ones Lund posted.
Thanks for a great time John.

John... you missed out buddy, you know where I was - we went 5 for about 14 and had no wind - just wet. Didnt see another boat all day, we had the whole river to ourselves. Everybody else - dont even bother to ask where, cause John won't tell ya.
One (released, kinda dark buck) was 15 plus pounds and clipped. Gotta loose those rubber hooks though. I think im going back to Gamagatsu and loosing the owners for steelhead fishing, they dont hold all that well once stuck for some reason I cant figure out.
All in all a pretty good day on a rising river in marginal conditions.

Brad- Thats awesome.........The ironic thing was that my wife switched her stuff to today and I didnt get home til 6:00 last night. She told me around 10:00 and by that time it was too late. I am glad I got to fish w/Troy as he is a hoot to fish with. I am still off this week and can go any day but tomorrow so let me know.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">I am a diehard Gamakatsu guy, however I have been fishing this year with Vision hooks for my drift gear and have had great results. My cost they are less than 14.00 /100 so I bought 400. I will give you a 25/pk to try if you want.
