Default Alsea yesterday? anyone do any good?

I fished fall creek to rivers edge yesterday there is a tree across fall creek but you can drag your boat around it.

aslo some nice person has decided they needed the cabel from the pull slide at rivers edge more then the boaters do.

good think I have a 100 foot rope in my seat box at all times

the river was rising slowly all day and the fish were scarce I managed to hook 1 drift fishing but never got to see it and had a plug rod fold but it didnt stick.

either fishing was tuff or I suck

anyone do anygood on the alsea yesterday?

Cully, he is talking about the Rivers edge park take out. The Steelheaders (NW) put it in several years ago. It has a wooden pole with a pully for a cable that seems to get stolen every year, and hasn't been replaced this year. The Fall creek put in is a slide next to the bridge, it is best to have 3 people to put in( at my age anyhow), The run is quite easy except for Fall Creek part, it is narrow, shallow and has trees in it, not for the faint of heart!

T fall creek part isnt real bad when the water is say 5 to 5 1/2 feet in the main alsea and the drag around the tree in it is short not even a boat lenght I am guessing.

you can see the tree from the hwy bridge over the creek it is in the tightest spot on the creek so if you walk down and look at it you will see the worst the creek has to offer.

the rest of the run is smooth sailing nothing in there that could mess a guy up that has been rowing for a while its all pretty flat no big drops only one chute and you can see it from the hwy if you drive down river from fall creek its the first place the river comes back to the road.

you can get out at the rivers edge pole slide but you have to have about 75 ft of rope to do it.

its going to be interesting to see what the fish do with the new broodstock program since they are not dumping fish from the fall creek hatchery any longer.

hopefully it wont end up like the siuslaw. on the siuslaw all the fish seem to blow right up to the last 1/2 mile or so below the smolt release sites and so do all the angelers its a mad house, and the fish dont seem to hang around in the lower sections much they just blow thru as fast as they can go.

I would hate to see every boat on the alsea be forced to fish from mill creek to pink house.
