Default Transom saver with offshore brackets?

I have a Honda 130 mounted on an aluminum offshore/gil bracket and have been wondering if others who have offshore brackets use transom savers (never used one so am not sure if it's even possible?). The boat manufacturer says not to worry that the bracket is plenty strong (it does look extra heavy duty). But just for peace of mind I was wondering if it would be possible (or any benefit?) to use one. Sometimes we may trailer it for 200 mile trips and supporting the motor would seem to relieve some stress on the bracket and in turn also the transom.
