S P R I N G E R S ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Just seeing who's awake! Just think, the first springer will be caught in the Willamette or Columbia any day now!
Who's going to fish for them in early January?
SKP

Re: S P R I N G E R S ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
The person who catches the first springer will be someone named Billy Jo Bob. It will be caught from the bank...in the OC area. Bill Monroe will tell you about it on the Inside Line Fishing Report, Soon after that the serious rains will begin and all of you will be cursing and heading for your favorite sturgeon hole in the Columbia.
The smelt will return once more and take your mind off of springers....There then will be so many smelt in the river(s) that the Springers will not bite and you once again will get discouraged and head for your favorite sturgeon hole with fresh smelt in hand. I hope this will help ease some of the pain that all will go through in the months to come. Just wait.
Have a happy New Year,

Re: S P R I N G E R S ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
very nice Mrdorkfish..
I usually spend the last two weeks in Feb. calling Jim at the Rogue Outdoor store, asking, "has it been caught yet?"
it usually comes from some guy fishing Huntley Bar with a gray ghost spin-glo plunking for steelies, maybe even from Dunkleburger...
But this year...
I am going to spend a ton of time anchor fishing for both steelies and SPRINGERS on the Rogue in Feb. and March!
March 3rd has been the earlist Howard SPRINGER... until this year! This year t will come in Feb.

Re: S P R I N G E R S ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I fished a sturgeon hole yesterday 2 miles down from Kelly Point, Sat 27. I sure had a lot of fish in my fish finder all day 17 to 40 ft. What are they????? Looked the sane size as when I was in the hog lines this Aug & Sept for the big ones.
