How was the Hwy 6 pass this morning?
I had planed to float the Wilson this AM with Zaq and Big and bright but when we saw the road report on the pass on HWY 6 we changed our minds and hit the Clack instead.
Wondering how the road was going over in the morning and how the river fished? Anybody brave it and have a report for us?

Boedy, my neighbor made the drive this morning. He said it was mostly wet, not too much snow like there was yesterday. BTW, he went 0 for 3 at the spruce tree hole. Haven't heard any other reports.

Zaq,
WRO(Ryan), another buddy of mine and I fished the wilson today. We got drenched but we managed to go 3 for 5 with each getting a fish . Most people we talked to said it was slow but we did alright thatnks to the corkie, yarn, and carrot milk you recommended .
To bad you didn't go would've like to have finally met you guys.

Don't know how it was this morning, but Friday morning, it was a sheet of ice!! We took it at about 25 MPH going up and coming down till we got below the freezing level. It was pretty hairy :depressed:

Went over Friday, if you have 4-wheel drive no problem even towing a drift boat. Lots of snow, even snowed on us until sun up on the river.

It was slow going...snow & ice for 20+ miles but it was worth it as always .

Re: How was the Hwy 6 pass this morning?
PLEASE be careful out there. You may be the most adept and proficient ice/ snow driver in the west, but the people you share the road with may not be.
A good friend of mine, and one helluva a good doctor in Tillamook was killed Friday evening at milepost 20.
Doctor Craig Roberts
Tillamook County has lost a GREAT person.
You will be missed, my friend.

Sorry to hear that. I work in a level 2 trauma center and every time my trauma pager goes off I have to do a quick mental inventory of where my loved ones are. My worst fear is that I will be on shift and have to scan a family member.

Re: How was the Hwy 6 pass this morning?
Hey Spud...
I was on the way over to Tillamook that morning and saw the aftermath of that accident...
Many ERT & Incident response people still there at 5 AM cleaning the reckage...
My buddy & I knew it wasn't good for the person or people in the van...It was one of the most grusome aftermath scenes I have ever seen...
My thoughts and prayers go out to the person who lost his life...
Everyone, 20 MPH is not a bad thing when traveling on these roads...It has been brutaly dangerous the last couple of days...Please take some extra time and drive safely...
