Default Curado Question

I just got a Curado bsf for Christmas. Just curious as to how often you guys adjust the internal braking system. How many of the breaks should I have on to start? Or, should I just play around with it?

If it works....don't fix it. Mine has worked fine right out of the box for a year now. Casts like a dream, and I haven't touched the internals.

Did it come with only 2 of the brakes on? I messed with it and can't remember.

Two brakes on. I've had my reel for a couple of years and I can't even imagine how many steelhead and an occasional salmon have been caught with it.
The thing is a dream to cast, love to target cast. It's amazing! John

Fished mine right out of the box, I believe two brakes are out, with one it might seem lopsided and work against you. Casts like a dream and smooooth drag. Now If I could just quit hitting the thumbar when I set the hook.

Is it just me or does it seem like the Curado has a weak drag? The last fish I got on my Curado the drag got VERY soft after the fish made a quick 60 foot run. Like the drag got hot and weak. Maybe it's just my reel but I'd be curious to know if others have had similar experiences.

I haven't felt like the drag is weak. It's just so dang smooooth that I have to look down when the fish doesn't come my way after I pump and reel down. I can't feel line coming off the reel. That's the way they should be. I just use my thumb for a little more pressure or give the drag just a hair more adjustment.

Thanks guys. I took it out today, I think 3 brakes were on. Man, does that cast nice. Can't wait to catch one with it.
