New Tow Rig!!!!
Talked the wife into lettting me get a new tow rig for Christmas. Really a very plesant experience working with Dave Jidas (Mr. Kitchen Pass) of Doherty Ford in Forest Grove. Great guy to work with and the best part was no beating around the bush. Matter of fact I liked Dave so much that I even let him sell Pop's a rig too.
Dave, really enjoyed meeting you and the way that you treated both Dad and I this week. I am sure I'll be back for a van for the wife. Thanks!

Nice rig, Bernie! Congrats. That should make all of those treks over the coastal range a lot more comfortable! Luke

Hey Ruth and Zaq, thanks for the help on the picture.

Nice rig C&E!!! I hear Ford makes a pretty good truck  From the looks of the picture I hope it came with a bumper sticker that says, "If you don't like the way I drive, stay off the sidewalk"

Bern, so what is the power plant? V10 or stink rig? If you need practice on fixing a dent in the right rear quarter panel, let me know.... not that I actually have a dent there that matches the corner of my trailer. Ooops..

Re: New Tow Rig!!!!
Bernie,
It was a pleasure working with you and your dad!! You have a wonderful family. A truck is such a large purchase, I'm glad you guys are happy. If you should need anything don't hesitate to give me a call.
Thanks again!
Dave

Re: New Tow Rig!!!!
Thanks everyone. It is the new 6.0L desiel with the Larriat package. Blue and gold with the tan interior. Definitly a real looker of a truck. Handled the snow coming back from the wilson yesterday just fine too! Oh, It hauled those heavy chromers with no problem at all.
Thanks again Dave. Pop's and I are real happy. See

Re: New Tow Rig!!!!
Willie 17, you just keep driving those chevys with a transmission named after a girl. I'll stick to Ford for a truck that knows how to work, not wants to work. BTW The trannys were week for the 99 vintage. That was the only year they produced that particular tranny. The problem has been corrected.

Re: New Tow Rig!!!!
Good job Bernie. I just got my 04 F250 6 litre right before Thanksgiving. I absolutely love it.
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Yeah,,,, right... My last 3 rigs were GM products. one Suburban, one Yukon and one Yukon XL. After three tries I decided it was time to go back to driving a vehicle that won't start falling apart on the inside and having elctrical and cooling system problems after 50,000 miles

Re: New Tow Rig!!!!
Tanner I saw that spiffy ride of yours at the Christmas Party. Got me to thinking about that big write off at the end of the year and what do you know? I went and got one from Mr. Kitchen Pass at Doherty Ford.
Funny, I never did even think of a Chevy. Then again....why bother. I love my truck and my wife does too. So I love her even more. Merry Christmas to me.

Re: New Tow Rig!!!!
My dad has been truck shopping several months, he was looking for something pretty specific in a certain color, 6.0 diesel, manual tranny, cloth seats, long bed, crew cab, F350 ....etc... it was not going to be on a lot unless he got really lucky. He went to every dealer in Oregon I think. He would call me once in a while with some updates on who wanted what for each truck. (he wasnt about to order it which was my suggestion)
Then he calls me one night and ask why I didnt tell him about Mr Kitchen Pass from ifish He stopped in looking for the specific rig and of course it wasnt there. After describing to Mr Kitchen Pass what he wanted, he just ordered it and told him when it came in, he would get first shot at it. If he didnt want it, no problem he would sell it on the lot. A few months go by and my old man owns the truck Mr Kitchen Pass ordered
The same week my grandma goes and buys a new car from him after hearing how happy dad was
There are salesmen who make sales, and salesmen who make happy customers. Mr Kitchen Pass made both my Grandma and Dad very happy. And after dad shopped all over the state Mr Kitchen Pass gave him the best price.
Grandma is very old and doesnt drive well at night, she is the person who never gets her car over 40mph anywhere. After buying the car, the salesman was going to drive her to Tillamook since it was late. She decided to drive herself but the offer was very nice.
I know who I will be talking to when I need a new truck.
Good choice Bernie.
