Default How Shallow??

How Shallow of water do you run your bait divers? I have been typically running them in water 5-8' deep. I have been running plugs in slightly shallow(er) and faster water 2-6' deep. Does anybody run strait bait dives instead of plugs in a wide range of water? What do you consider Diver water VS plug water? I personally find bait divers more effective than plugs in normal winter flows, but I do well with plugs in higher off colored flows! How bout you?
Just curious!

I second what Chinookie said. When I run bait divers I will often run a bait diver on each side rod holder and a plug down the middle holder slightly further out then the plugs. Don't be afraid to run pink rubber worms on the bait divers either. They whack'em like a plug. Also, be cautious on running divers after we begin to get alot of natives around. Makes for a lot of mortality we don't want.

Weird deal, Every hatchery fish I have gotten either springer or steelhead was lip hooked while using bait divers, but all nates, both salmon and steelhead have swallowed the hooks.

When I run my bait divers I typically will run them in 3 to 10 feet of water. I pretty much use them anywhere I plug ecept in the shallower fast tailouts, there they tend to hang up more. I have used them in high and low flows both and it did not seem to make much difference worked good in both in the higher off colored water. A vary effective technique for steelies when they want bait.
