Default Sissors

I just got a reel filled with Tuff Line (yellow) and haven't used it yet. I was told that you need to get a special sissors to cut the line as clippers will not cut it. Also I was told that there is an electric unit that will burn the line, just like you would do with Poly rope.

Any suggestions?

I use the yellow now too as of a week ago..I bought a pair of childs plastic handle blunt nosed scissors and keep them in my vest...they are the best and what I'm told recommended for the super lines. My cheap gradeschool pairs works flawlessly.

Pocket knife works for me. If I'm not in a hurry, I burn the ends with a lighter, but I think I'm just being anal.

I carry a lighter anyway so I usually just burn through it.

Get the small ones that Fly fishers use. Very sharp. I have been using them for a cuple years and you don't have to burn your line after you cut it.

A friend of mine has this deallybob about the size of a penlight that has two electrodes at one end, insert line between electrodes, press a button and it melts the line with no frayed ends. He got this rig from his wife who is a nurse and they use these to burn through fingernails, cotterize, Etc, etc. Cool rig.

Sorry I messed up on the last thread. I would like to get some feed back from ifishers using this color. I' ve been out a number of times and other people have out fished me, hands down, when I was using this line. Maybe it was the luck of the draw but I'm starting to wonder. Thanks to anyone giving me feed back.

Bi-Mart carries a folding pair of scissors, packaged in a small ziplock, hanging out near the bait threaders, wader belts, trout snubbers. I've had a pair for a few years, no problem cutting through fusion, power pro, fly line backing, etc etc.
