Default WARNING to all Christmas Week Ifishers

KNOW BEFORE YOU TOW!!!
Please! Be careful this week! The pass is treacherous. I'm glad that I didn't go to Portland today, because as we speak, I'd be driving, and they are reporting black ice and snow flurries.

Please, please, please be careful out there! That road can be very dangerous!!!

This is SO spooky! I tried to go to Portland today and turned around and headed back, due not to the conditions then, but the knowledge that the temperatures would be freezing on my way home.

I told Bill that if we decided to go, we should leave Portland no later than 4 or 4:30. That would have put us there at that very bridge where the accident now is, at that exact time!

I sure hope that no one in that accident is hurt. Luckily, most snowy accidents are non injury due to the slower speeds. I hope that is true, this Christmas Day.

All of the sudden, the guilt I felt for not attending the family get together is vanishing.

J

Thanks for the link, Jennie. I was just getting ready to head out the door and head to Tillamook, so I decided to check the site. I clicked on Hwy 6 and a popup appeared. Guess what? Looks like a bad wreck on the bridge over Devils Lake Fork :depressed:

I'd sure like to think I helped you to make a decision to either drive slower, or not at all!

Home is a good place when the hiway is like this!

Well, I HAVE to fish tomorrow. The question is... Do I wait a bit longer to head down to the cabin, or do I come down in the morning?

Either way......

<edit> I just called ODOT. Hwy 6 just reopened. I'm off! (slowly)<edit>
