I floated mills to Missouri bend on the 7 th with no problems just talked to twitch he didn't mention anything about any hazards. If anyone one is running it on Saturday I'd like to hook up so we could shuttle each other.

No hazards. I'll be driving by Missouri Bend Saturday 2:30-3:15 driving back toward Mill Cr if you need a ride.

How Long of a float would Salmonberry to Missouri Bend be non-stop?

Probably going to put in the pontoon boat Sunday morning if anybody
would like to arrange a shuttle?

Its not a long run, maybe 3 miles. If you want to make it a little longer put in at Campbell (Pink House). Would be a nice run for a pontoon.

So does the water.
Hard to get fish to the hatchery when you can cross the N. Fk in a pair of Boggs knee boots.

Mid January flows were the same as in July... no bueno.

It's hard to get fish to the hatchery when there aren't any fish too! The North Fork may be at July levels, but the lower river has plenty of water to hold fish. It was high enough at times in January for the fish to move. MB.

X2.

The numbers are pretty poor this year. Have only found fish in two holes consistently while banking it. Doing floats in the boat have been very spotty at best. Have been a couple rivers south that have been fishing much better for me.

We have had three consecutive weeks of perfect water conditions on the lower Alsea and fish are far and few between. Seems like randomly you find pods here and there but there is no rime to reason and just plain not many fish compared to prior years.

That's funny because I was there on the 4th and saw 4 pens full of fish. Granted that's not a lot but it's more than 0

^ They hold onto fish for awhile, most likely the steelhead you saw came into the trap sometime around the end of January and where then sorted into pens.

The Bad News Is...poor run in the Alsea this year. Good news is...consistent with all other rivers on central and northern coast. Sad!

No where to look it up. It has just been slow. Some instances of fair to good. But very short lived, and no consistency. Good year for water conditions with few fish. Some may blame it on the extended period of low water. No. They are simply not there in any numbers.

Yet everyone shows up in mass numbers. Last week at one point i had 4 drift boats in front and 3 to the rear of me. 8 boats fishing one small area in low clear water wonder why nobody was hooking up
