I think I saw a sign saying it was open when I drive by last sunday. Check the ODOT site, maybe they show something on it.

The bridge is closed from 8pm to 5am M-F. It is open otherwise.

I've been across it several times in the last 6 to 8 weeks to launch at Cathedral Park.

FYI

www.tripcheck.com

the saint johns bridge is closed weeknights from eight p.m. to five a.m. and restricted to one lane each direction all other hours.
Flaggers will be controlling traffic on the west ramps. ALL vehicles using the St. Johns Bridge are restricted to 8' 6" in width.

You can always take the Lombard exit off of I5 and get to St Johns that way as well. You can also take Columbia Blvd until it wraps back around at which time you will be approaching the bridge from West/North West.

I use the bridge daily (unfortunately) and it's only closed 2000-0500.
The best way to get to Cathedral and avoid the bridge if need be is to take Marine Dr west to Portland Rd south, then Fessenden west across Lombard to Ivanhoe south to Baltimore (where the ramp is). It's not as complicated as it sounds.
Taking Lombard directly off I5 is a drag; it's a long ways, and there's many, many lights. :depressed:
