Default Building a Drift Boat

Wild hair the last couple of weeks to build a small wood drifter. Anyone who has done it I would like to hear from you. Did you go with a "kit" or find an old one and use as a template. I am thinking small and lightweight. Cost estimate around 1K for plywood, epoxy, and stainless.

I've been toying with the idea of making a small wooden boat some time (probably won't happen until I retire or at least all mykids are out of the house). I ran accross this awhile back - some of these plans look interesting.
