I can't wait for Jan. 1!!!

I can't wait for Jan. 1! (Yes, I know it's redundant from the title, but give me a break, I haven't posted in a while).

Why you may ask?

Because I will have a fixed boat and a new year of FISHING!

I quit fishing about two months ago because I felt the Salmon run had stopped and I have never seen a steelhead, let alone caught one. Frankly, I think the steelhead pictures on here are fakes and I refuse to believe that those fish exist.

Steelhead have been very elusive. When I was 10, my father took me to some unknown river that seemed like it was hours and hours away. In actuality I think it was like the Sandy.

It was pouring and all I remember is continually snagging rocks, trees, logs, myself and other fishermen on the bank with my rod, and didn't see a steelhead. So, we went back to the car where my dad unveiled for lunch his epic PEANUT BUTTER, BOLOGNA AND MUSTARD sandwiches.

I threw mine out the window without even trying it and ever since....you guessed it....no steelhead.

I can't wait for Jan. 1. When I can try to catch and extremly ugly fish, bonk it on the head, cut the meat off of its bones, smoke it and give it all away.

Why?

BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE STURGEON!


Sorry if this post is a bit random -- it's been about two months of no fishing and my head is going to explode.

Did I mention I can't wait?

Or catch a steelhead for that matter?

I understand your dad is on a strict diet of peanut butter, bologne, and mustard sandwiches in preperation for the sturgeon challenge It's just one of his many special training routines. I hear he's been working on his arm strength by lifting an aluminium can from the table to his chin gotten to where he can do unlimited reps :grin:

<font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helvetica">I totally hear ya!! I thought about making a similar post the other day! Don't give up though! There's enough great info on this site that we should be able to hook up any time now!! (That's of course if there were any fish out there )
