Default Diver trouble

It seems that when I use divers to dive bait they seem to get hung up alot. I can't figure out why they keep doing it. I use braided main line and mono leader. I used mono main in the spring and same thing.

There are a lot of things that might be going on.

Maybe you are fishing in too shallow of water with a diver that is made to dive deep

Running the boat in a strieght line might help too

Thicker line will help divers not dig so deep too, 20# mono with Hot N Tot's is what I like.

Running the divers on a dropper might also help out.

The only thing I can think is that there might be to much line out or sometimes the leader can be to long with to much bait(with to small of a bobber)causing it to sink in softer currents under the surface.Just a guess.

Shougalnite,
I fish that same river alot. Haven't had too much problem with diver hang up (use Hot n Tots). Do you leave your diver out between spots? That river is snaggy in between drifts (lots of big rock, as you know) and divers/plugs hang up a lot if you leave them out. If you bring 'em in at the end of the drift, and then put 'em out in the next drift you'll have less trouble.

My partner says hi. He's out again today.

When I have that problem it's usually too big a hook/bait that's sinking to bottom and getting hung up or I'm getting lazy and backing down the river too fast, letting them sink.
