Default Which do you prefer?

In regards to baitcasting reels,do you prefer the low-profile style like a Curado,or a round style like an Abu?

I fished my Abu for a long time and switched over to a low profile not long ago. Between the two, I'd say I like the low profile better. Since the center of mass of the reel is closer to the centerline of the rod, I feel that it is more sensitive.

They all good.I have calcuttas and curados,Like them the same.I have big hands so the round reels don't bother me.But the calcutta is cold to the touch when it's chilly outside.

Low profile reel(small game fish) for trout, steelhead, and bass. Round reel(big game fish) for salmon and sturgeon.

I am a big fan of the low profile contoured reels, like the curados. I'd love to find a larger spooled reel for salmon that is designed like this. Anyone seen one?

Years ago Quantum made one, but havent seen one in ages.
