Default Fishing above the I5 bridge

I was just reading in the Guides Forecast that there is an extended sport season from 4/16 – 4/19 from I-5 to Bonneville Dam. Is this true? I was unable to find anything mentioned about this on the ODFW web site and I don't recall it mentioned on the board. Thanks

There's going to another meeting next Tuesday.I talked to our club member who attends all these meetings. He doupts they will open from I-5 to the dam if at all they open it he says we'ed be lucky to get maybe two days. Then he says they think the run might go up to 200,000 I asked why not if the run was that big,he said because their up river fish so we have to save them so they can be caught above the dam. That really jerks my chain
if the run is that big opening the river for 3 or more days isn't go to hurt a thing because we still have to turn the nates loose.Don't get me wrong I have no proplem with that at all
but I see with a run that big no reason to not let the guys back in down here, I'd propably be even madder if I could fish,I'm getting an MRI Tues. and hopefully get operated on quickly so that I can at least get in on the summer chinnok fishing(if they let us fish them this yr.)or steelhead this summer.I'm getting real tired of be able to do nothing all day long everyday.I'm hopeing to be able to make my clubs Sturgeon derby in Chinook on the 14th of June this year,I missed it last year because of my back just wouldn't be right to miss it twice. :depressed:

I don't look for a reopening above I-5 bridge. It's beginning to look like days are running short for the CR. Gotta save those fish for the netters.

Fellow Ifishers. Something we've all known but have been lied to about from our respective wildlife agencies. The rumour mill going around state wildlife employees is that the reason we were limited and/or shut down in areas is due to the fact that the commercial guys got too many upriver fish. When they say they manage the different fisheries separately, they meant for you to not get too angry at them for not monitoring the events a little more closely. If you get a chance to talk to a wildlife or fisheries employee, press em on this and see what response you get. If the numbers get too good, we know what will happen. The nets will be in on a Mon or Tues. I'm with you Steve, BAN ALL NETS.
