Default Cowlitz report....Big Brat Pic

Even with less than ideal water color(about 3')the Cowlitz river is kickin out some very nice hatchery steelhead. We fished Sunday the 21st and boated 4 with the big fish going 16.8#...2 @ 13# and a chrome 8# and lost several fish. On Monday the 22nd fished (board member) LongJohn and stepson to be Kyler. Hooked close to the same number of fish , with the big fish close to 12#.

All our fish were caught on either Corkies and sandshrimp or Corkies and eggs. One thing I've done is gone up a size in my Corkies and hooks from what I normally use. Our fish were caught side drifting from the Clay banks @ Blue creek to the cabin hole.

If anyone is off for the holidays the next 2 weeks I have a few weekdays and a Sunday trip open.

Steve, I returned your email 9:30 this morning, did you get it?..... It's hard sometimes when your running trips away from home and a computer.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Hey fear no fish I also fish the wind and the people and the people at the hatchery said there shouldn't be any fish coming up that aren't clipped but they weren't sure if the rule was going to change on them or not. I heard that guy who had people pay to fish in coffer got in some big trouble. He had parts of his land that wasn't even his locked up. I also heard that it may be re-opened do you know anything on this? I had met the guy and he was a jerk he ended up kicking me off his property after a argument.

Bob wrote me an email saying that it should be 80 percent clipped and that we will be able to keep the finned ones again this year. Those big early Springers that pass through our system are beauties!
