Default Slowing my DB???

Hello all,
I recently got a Large Happy Troller from a friend to slow my DB down on my 8hp motor. I'm tired of dealing with the drift socks. I first tried the large size on the Clack with 0 forward abilities. Then Cut it down to 8.5" width that the manufacture suggests. still no forward thrust.
???is do you guys that have them use them on rivers or just lakes. What size is the length on yours.
SEE YA

Fire,
I had the same problem. I cut new notches into the tabs on the side of the plate that the locking bar sets into. I cut the notches so the plate is at a ~45 degree angle. Make sense?
