Default Detroit/Hagg Lake In January

Anybody out there fishing Detroit/Hagg this time of year? Suggestions on where to go and what to use? Is the lower boat ramp at Detroit usuable or would snow be an issue.

I have a neighbor who wants to break in a new trout rod and I wouldn't mind getting my boat wet.

Thanks in advance.

I might be wrong, but I think Hagg is closed for the season.

Detroit should be hot now for big fish on the south side of the island, up the North Santiam Arm. We have alweays done very good there this time of the year. Boats are probably O.K. if there is not to much snow. Call ahead to the Detroit Ranger station to make sure. Dress warm though and have fun.

I was up at detroit on 1/11. The only ramp that is open is the Mongold ramp, it was quite low. If you have a small boat or drift boat you can get out.
