You have the North Fork of the Nehalem River - best bank spot is up at the hatchery along Highway 53. The 'South Fork' Nehalem (Nehalem mainstem) is only 10-30 minutes away - depends on how far up you go. Steelhead, salmon, searun cutthroats (catch and release) - depending on the season. Excellent access above Nehalem Falls. All the way up to the Salmonberry River. No fish in the Salmonberry

. The beaches are good for redtail (so I have read - need to know run timing) - and the Nehalem Bay jetty's are not that far away either.
Crabbing in the bay. Salmon in the bay. Tell her she needs a boat.
Take your mother out to lunch - she has done good for you.
