Default Sturgeon Recon 12/21

Did a little recon for ****** Division of "Team Get Bent" today on the Columbia. Had a great day(all I wanted for my birthday was to fish!). Ended the day with 55 . Two definite keepers and 4 others that were in the measurable category. 27 caught on smelt and 28 caught on one squid that I used for the whole day. The river was like a lake, no wind and not all that cold. And the sturgeon were going nuts jumping everywhere

Nice talking to Fortywinks and Sharkbait out on the river and to H20Dog at Freds. And Roger, I may have to bake you up a special batch of cookies for that comment!!!

It was nice meeting you yesterday and you definitely had a good spot there. Although it was a little depressing in that every time we turned around you were setting the hook on another one.

All in all a beatiful day to be on the river.

Hog One, I either do it like you said, or if I'm really lazy I just thread it on the hook. If you run the hook through that tough part of the head, it stays on pretty darn good.

Dipnet - A belated Happy Birthday.

Yes it was a good day of fishing out there. We were using same baits.
