Fished the Columbia with a couple buddies Saturday in the Frenchman's Bar/Caterpillar Island area. We were the first boat in our hog line at 4:45. My friend starts putting on a clinic, he hooked and landed four fish by 9:15! I finally gave in and tied on the right K-14 and broke out the secret sauce. I got four out of the next five! We got the first eight to the boat. I hooked the ninth and it felt huge! At this point, my head was so big I got a little cocky and talked a little trash to a friend in another boat that was 0'fer. Talk about karma, *bink*, lost it... Three keepers on the day, my best Columbia springer trip ever.
NOTE: I am not an expert, I got lucky. I do not think I have any special fishing gifts. I did not/will not give specific locations away, out of respect for the friend that took me there. I will say wet hooks catch fish, especially on chartreuse tipped K-14's. Light me up if you want to...
