For anyone who has ever fished Eagle Crk
Ok, so I head up to Bonnie Lure today hoping to get some jigs wet and enjoy the sunshine. I walk over to the bridge and start fishing. Now, if you know abou this place, you know of the homeowner across the creek on the eastside of the bridge. He has posted signs on both sides of the river about tresspassing etc, and is generally a jerk. So anyway, I start fishing and notice this guy right at the waters edge on his property and he is cutting down two good sized trees that are hanging over the water. Before you know it the tree is cut and is in the creek floating downstream!! Then goes #2, Now, from end to end I estimate these trees at about 30ft long. There has to be somthing illegal about dumping trees in the water!! I was so po'd that I decided to walk downriver aways and fish. I returned about 20min later and the guy was throwing all sorts of sticks, etc in the creek again!! Then, the jerk throws an old beach ball into the creek. I had enough and yelled that the river isnt a garbage dump you jerk. About 5 minutes later, the genius is on the bridge and told us there are no fish in the river. Yeah, because you dump all your garbage in here you moron!!. Who knows the law abou this? Isnt there some sort of set back he has to follow on the bank? These trees were right on the waters edge. Comments? I know lots of you know who this horses arse is..

Re: For anyone who has ever fished Eagle Crk
well if you saw him throw things in the creek then you should report him for littering. It is highly illegal to dump trees (fall them) in any river or creek it has to do with some kind of enhancement issue. I would call ODF and ask them maybe BLM if ODF can't help. That would be my thoughts on it. Maybe you could attach the link to the silt on the Kilchis thread and get some of the self proclaimed conservationists there to help. They seem to all know maore than the forester there that was trying to answer there question.

And he also patrols out there to see to it that the "glo-ballers" aren't wetting a hook too soon.

Re: For anyone who has ever fished Eagle Crk
I called information to get the "non emergency" number for Clackams county but no one answered. It wasnt an emergency, so no 911. I talked with a "local" there and he said this guy thinks he owns the whole river.

Re: For anyone who has ever fished Eagle Crk
About 13 years ago I rented a house on the Willamette. My next door neighbor was a real "Kind and caring sort" too. One day he has a crew out falling 80' high cottonwoods into the river. This guy is dragging them out mid stream with his ski boat and cutting them loose.
Then he "cleaned up" around his boat house by throwing old lounge chairs and a table in the river.
I called Marion County Sherrif, Army Corps of Engineers, State DEQ.....
No one gave a rip. It really bugged me but no agency I could find would do a thing.
I hope things are better now. Good Luck!

Re: For anyone who has ever fished Eagle Crk
Foxer....that sucks!
I was fishing with Devonian this weekend and one of our many highly intelligent discussions was about how many people who fish seem to be complete and total morons. We as fisherman aren't immune to the scum of society giving our sport a bad rap but.....is it just me or does there seems to be an overabundance of people missing chromosomes on the river???
We had the pleasure of meeting one such individual this weekend. It just doesn't make sense.....why be a jacka$$ when your out enjoying a day on the river? Life's too short. We could write a book about all the idiots we meet in life.....your not alone. We as fisherman need to just continue to "rise above" and hope these jerks just start to die off naturally.

Re: For anyone who has ever fished Eagle Crk
driftphish hit the nail on the head.....
idea....
have a buddy fish, you run a camera, and see if the moron keeps it up.
I have a hard time believing any law will come out there to do anything, but it cant hurt to try. He was a total jerk last year while we fished there... if he's that unhappy with people fishing such a popular little creek, maybe he should be movin' on! That creek will always get fished.

Re: For anyone who has ever fished Eagle Crk
I watched this guy on Sunday cutting up the fallen trees . I had taken my 5 year old twin daughters down there to fish the hole under the bridge  and he was working on the other side. I yelled over to him and asked him if he had any issues with my girls fishing on the right side of the bridge and he yelled back "Yes, they need to be on the other side, this is private property!" Having seen him in action last year  (he called sherrif on anglers!!) I took the kids to the other side. I rigged them up with bobbers and eggs and I casted as far upsteam as I could in front of him so they could get a partial drift through the best part of the hole. We'll this is cutting away on his trees (he did not cut them down, they were uprooted in the high water and deposited on his bank) and he starts tossing big slabs of bark into the creek and a few rounds he cut off rolled in as well. I didn't see him throw the trash but he really does not have a clue. To say the least we didn't get any bites but a day out with the kids is always a good thing.

Re: For anyone who has ever fished Eagle Crk
The "crap" is hung up in the tailout directly in front of the white mobile home. Actually, it is hung up on the side of the river, but if it had turned at all it would be blocking the creek. My guess is that when the water recedes a bit it will be part of the bank

Re: For anyone who has ever fished Eagle Crk
I was under the impression that you can not cut trees within twenty feet from the bank. I can not understand how any it can be legal to throw debris in the water.

Re: For anyone who has ever fished Eagle Crk
I could hardly sleep last night with the rain and wind. It just kept screaming fresh steelies, fresh steelies..go to the creek and catch fresh steelies . So before work I hit the Creek fish from the Bonnie Lure bridge down to the mouth and part of the Clack. No fish . On the way back up I see the beach ball hung up in the top of the tree so I waded out and retrieved and deposited it back to its owners front gate. I wanted to take it to the door steps it is well posted, no tresspassing. After I left I think I should have just tossed it into the garbage myself as this guy will probably toss it back into the creek. Guess I wasn't thinking
