Went out Saturday for my first attempt at fishing springers on the CR with a couple I-fishers and a friend. Thanks all for the advice on rigging and places, it worked  . We fished 6:30 to 3 and came up with two fish, one with the right number of fins. Of course, 7 hours of nothing and both fish within 45 minutes of each other around noon. Wound up fishing in about 40+ ft of water. Funny thing is that some boats did really well and others were skunked. Don't know if they were doing something different or if the fish run in some narrow channels

. I'll just have to keep practicing

. I know just about everyone was using Kwikfish in chrome and chartreuse. We caught the hatchery on a chrome with chartreuse head K15 and the nate on a fickle pickle K14. Both sardine wrapped, no extra scent. Despite the crowds, I had a real good time, although it could have been a bit warmer. Normally, I don't like waiting for anything, but hey, this is fishing, not work. The 45 minute wait at the ramp gave me time to rig everything up and meet a couple people. Thanks again, everyone for the tips. We bbq'd some filets tonight and boy were they tasty
Here's a pic of my friend who caught the hatchery, 17.3 lbs by scale.
