Default Jet Diver and Herring!

Just wondering what you all think about jet divers and cut plug herring in smaller rivers for spring chinook. I have personally done well, but still not convinced it will beat back bouncing eggs, but it sure doesnt get much easier fishing. I really enjoy fishing this method, espeially in fairly long holes about 8 to 20 feet deep, with just the right amount of current, which is just fast enough so you can slowly back down the hole or hold still. Just wondering if anyone else has any extras to add, maybe a little tip.

I`ll give one tip.
Try wrapping your Diver with bait like a kwikfish. It adds flavor especially if you have frozen herring. Good Luck.

Yep...I've used this method in the N.Santiam with fairly good results. Seems like the fish need to be there in numbers this far up. Good tip about bait wrapping the jet. I have scented mine but never wrapped it. I like to fish it on a 12-24" sliding dropper in deeper holes. Have had good success at OC along some of the wing dams/rock jetties across from Clackamette ramp channel(down from Meldrum Bar.
