Re: How to sound insulate Motor Box
I did this to a pick up once. I got the material, a heavy rubberized matting you cut to shape with adhesive on one side. I belive I got it one of the Cartronics stores. It's purpose is acoustical damping, ping Chelsea Audo, or Cartronics and see what they have.

Re: How to sound insulate Motor Box
There is a company in Tigard, I think its called Barrier Products ( not 100% sure ) and they make a product that they use on semi trucks motor boxes. It can be cut to fit and placed on your dog house with adhesive.

Whatever you use, make sure it is fireproof.

I ordered 1", fireproof noise dampening insulation from these guys for my dog house. Cut to fit and glue in place. Insulation and adhesive come together. Did help lower the noise in the boat.

How to sound insulate Motor Box
Hi,
Anybody have any experience or hints on insulating the inboard motor box to help decrease the noise? Or Ideas for such
Spray on insulation might be easier (like they use in car interiors), but not sure if there is any that is marine grade, or at least not a fire hazard  .
Thanks in advance ,

Re: How to sound insulate Motor Box
Motion Marine used a silver insulated foil for my motorbox. Used a yellow glue to apply it. It really dampens the noise.
