Fish are still up top I think? So fish with ford flashers, wedding rings, and white corn.

That lake is right up over the hill from my place, now maybe, just maybe if you might have an open set, maybe I could tag a long? I have all my stuff to fish them little buggers.

Troll with blades (I prefer smaller, silver blades in early morning and gold or silver/gold if sunny). Use a snubber and then wedding ring in red, green or red green. Put 1 kernel of canned Del Monte white corn on the hook and add a drop of shrimp Smelly Jelly. You'll crush 'em! Good luck!

Oh, ya. If you want to try some lures, I have had the best luck with Dick Nites (usually in silver) and small to medium-sized Needlefish (in chartruse, orange, yellor, white, or silver). You can run these alone, or put them on a leader (w/snubber) behind a set of blades [see above post]. I like to run the corn w/shirmp scent on the hook of these -- or just put on a small chunk of good old nightcrawler.

My favorite is a set of "willow leaf" blades in front of a size 12 or 14 pink pearl spin-n-glo. Anise or WD40 for scent.

If possible, locate your fish depth. All of these other suggestions are what I would recommend. Troll as slow as you can. ‘Just enough to have the blades spinning. I'd like to hook up with you another time. Kokanee is my wife's favorite, and I fish both the Merwin and Yale alot. Have fun and good luck. I'll be using one of those spots for springer fishing today. Oops, time to hook up the boat and go!

Try trolling without the big flashers, Ford fenders, etc. and use only the terminal lure & corn...you'll tend to get bigger kokes and when they hit the light gear allows them to fight without dragging around all that junk. You'll boat a higher % of fish, too, if you fish light. Troll very slowly and let your rig way out...150' or more. Kokanee are boat shy...and the big ones are flasher-shy.

Gutshotape gave the same info that I was going to give. Sounds like a few of you really know your stuff. If you do troll with blades, don't use much weight at this time of year, as KF85 stated they should be near the surface. Long light leaders are the key when trolling for them. I like at least 5ft. of 2 or 3 lb. test, and just a small small chunk of worm threaded onto the line above the hook and a piece of corn to top it off. The small chunk of worm up ontop of the hook keeps them from short striking.

Good luck!!!

one extra idea if the fishing is real slow! try using a white wedding ring instead of colored. sometimes this will put a lot of fish in the boat. they make them in glow-in-the-dark as well.
