Default ? about Wallace steelhead rod

I have this 8 & 1/2 foot baitcaster rod that I have had for a lot of years. It appears to be fiberglass with a pretty light action. Anyone out there have any history on this rod? Thanks, SS.

I remember Wallace rods from the mid-70's. If I remember correctly, they were similar looking to the brown fiberglass Fenwicks of the day. Medium brown in color with some off white criss-cross wraps at the butt of the rod. As I recall they were of similar quality and price to the Fenwicks which were considered to be among the best at the time.

Thanks Mike, a buddy of mine when I was in high school told me they were the best at the time. I may have a new reel seat put on it and maybe rewrapped(again)with better guides and start using it. It's sat in the garage for a LONNNNGGGGG time.

Depending on the action, it should make a great light plugging rod for steelies.

I'm not a big fan of glass for drift fishing, but lots of people like the old Fenwicks, Lamiglas S-glass, etc. for plug rods as you can really see the plug working.
