Fished Dodge Sat. Saw one bright chrome hatchery winter run caught. Nothing else. tried corkies with various combo's of yarn, shrimp and eggs, but no takers. Water started dropping fast. went from a 15 shot slinky With no hangups to 10 shot with a bunch of "rock cod" hooked. this happened in a space of 3 hours. There are some early winters in the Sandy, but not too may yet. it will only get better

Just got back from Oxbow where I watched a guy above me catch a good sized nate.

Hi Randall fish,
It was nice to meet and talk with ya at the take out that day. We started at Oxbow yesterday afternoon with no biters what so ever. At least there is fish starting to show this year. We'll hope for more as time goes on.

Randallfish - I would be shouting to if I caught a fish today from the Sandy. Man, glad someone got one. . Myself and several others warmed up the river for you earlier in the day - I agree the river look perfect. Just enough color change from Saturday's rains.

I fished from the bank this morning below where you got yours - just for a couple of hours. Really didn't attack the water with much confidence as I picked a different spot than where I had been fishing the last couple of weeks and of course all bets were off as to where the few fish might be with all that good looking water. I didn't touch nothing even though I stuck to the old standby - pink corkie and yarn or eggs. All I managed to do was leave my eggs on the bank - good luck to whoever finds them - they are jinxed.

It's the occasional report like yours that keeps me optimistic (i.e., in denial) about the Sandy.
