Default What size of first cast jigs for steelhead?

I saw they came in 3 different sizes and was wondering to go with small mediums or larges. Thanks for any help.

Depends on if you're going to use them in the summer, also. If you do, I suggest getting a few from each weight. If you're just planning on using them for winters, get a combination of the two heavier weights. Remember, you can always add split shots, too. Sometimes you have to use the extra weight, there's no way around it.

the smaller the better... the 16th ounce pink and white jig is probably the best bet... so put it under a fairly small cork bobber and let her rip.....

Our medium size jig is similar to an 1/8th-oz jig and will work fine in most situations.
