oops!!!
Well, I had a great time fishing out in front of gov. island sunday. The problem started when I asked my wife to steer the boat to retrieve the anchor. She's new to the concept, and within second we had run clean over the anchor rope.
Chinese fire drill time! Motor stalls, spins around and drops back to the original spot, only backwards. Thankfully there was little current, I'd hate to be up at bonny when this happend. Anyway, it took all my strength to get the motor raised and unwrap the rope, without falling out of the boat. Nothing damaged, except my pride. A little embarrassing but the whole group seemed to enjoy the entertainment. Most action the hogline saw all day!!!
Thank god my wife has a sense of humor, as we laughed it off and she'll give it another shot next time.
