Default Fishing tidewater and down for Steelies

Does anyone fish for steelhead from tidewater down, on say the alsea or siuslaw? If so what is the popular method? Oh the questions us newbies have.

I have never had much luck on the Tide Water for steelies but there are those that do. You can try drift fishing the slack water with Corky Birdie Sandshrimp combos but I like getting above the tide and fish the pockets...

By the way, where is your story? It is customary to post a story before asking questions...
