Default Volunteer Opportunity - Columbia River

Interesting volunteer opportunity. Great way to learn about a lesser know fishery.

What an opportunity. Moonlight cruises on the "cold, windy, rain-swept" lower Columbia.

Can't wait. Thanks for posting that Navigator!

Boy, I've heard of being selective, but wow! It says "Must be 18 years old."

I wonder how many 18 year-olds they'll find to do it

Pilar's Mate, I'm going to guess not that many. Heck I can't even get the two teenage neighbor kids to mow my lawn for $20.00! Too many video game I guess. As far as this Coastal Cutthroat Trout Study goes.... I know all of these guys personally and professionally. They are a stellar bunch. I actually helped them in their electrofishing collection/tagging efforts. These trout are often times overlooked and don't get the credit they deserve. As in..they were proposed to be listed under the ESA but (for some strange reason?) they were not. This study (if funding continues) will also look at wether or not resident populations of cutts can produce anadromus populations and vise-versa. And if so ... What triggers the change over? Or are they two separate cans of worms altogether. Regardless, it's very interesting work. This study is muli-faceted.

Pilar - Huh?

Ragnar, I'm sure it is a great study. I wish I could participate, but I'm quite a bit over 18  Okay, sorry, but seriously, this sounds like a great thing to do on sabbatical or if I didn't have to work for a living :-(
