Default My Alsea Beauty...(pics)

Well here is the one I drug out of the Alsea today. Should have seen the one that got away, don't worry, it'll still be there waiting for you! (any suggestions on marinades?)

That is a nice mess you got there. Assuming you can get it all untangled it doesn't look like you will have to buy drift tackle all year.

Oh by the way, that slinkie on the far right, was mine take good care of it.

How was the water? we are going to float the Alsea tomorrow morning if it isn't to bad.

My brother and I once stumbled across a snarl like that at the slack edge of a big hole on the North Umpqua. Aside from all the drift rigging, it included a Wiggle Wart, which was unfortunately still attached to a stiff steelhead carcass (about a 6lb hatchery fish).

I was thinking that would make a good center piece for Christmas Dinner. Put a couple of tall candles in the middle and your set.

I used to walk the Alsea each summer and look at the holes and the amount of tackle in that north fork is unreal!! Nice score!

Tomorrow only, Half Off Sale on previously used fishing tackle!

And seriously, this one is only a two salt fish compared to the one thats still out there...

Steelie Steve, it was a partial clip, musta been a newbie worker at the hatchery...

Wernergonefishin, No, you don't need that much weight... or at least thats what some people have probably now figured out

No flossing here, it was a definate take...

SKP, I'm gona try out my new cure on these beauties...nice tight little skeins....

Fishsniffer, I think anyone who has fished the Alsea this year can probably ID some stuff...

Anyone know a good taxidermist, I'm thinking skin, the fiberglass just couldn't capture its natural beauty

hahaha
How did you tag this one.... i can't find it on the little species slip

The other day i took a friend of mine fishing for the first time..... HE HOOKED THE STATE TROOPER!!!!... we had some trouble tagging her too... so we decided to throw her back !!!! she put up a good fight though... probably went around 110-120 lbs

The Alsea has been producing some strange "fish" lately..... not much steelies though

Some needs to hit the hatchery hole on the sandy and completely dredge it out, I bet theres 20x that much in that one hole.
