Fished the Wilson from 7:15-11:45 color was good a little debris still in the water. Lots of fishing not much catching. At the guide shop nine people fishing one small hatchery and it wasn't mine. Drift boaters weren't bragging either. I just checked the river forecast and the river is going to continue to drop I would wait until tomorrow. It is raining pretty good at the Guide shop when I left so the forecast may change. I think it may be a little early and what fish are in the river are now really spread out. IMHO I'm not a Wilson expert or a steelhead catching expert so I could be all "wet" small fry no need to put your two cents in here! . I did see four nice looking cow elk this morning. I knew I was cursed when that happened everytime I see elk on the way to fish I never catch anything.

Gus it looks a bit high I think we should hold that thought and hit it on the drop. Maybe by the end of the week things will be a bit more fishable. Uncle D is coming in on the 22nd and wants to fish after Christmas.

Warning!!!!: The Wilson will be unfishable Saturday December 20th as Catch And Eat will be there trying, flogging, praying, begging and down right searching for a stealy to end the year. Thus the fishing will obviously be terrible so it would be best to stay home and watch TV.

You have been warned.

Woke up at 5am and met up with Kodiakfisher. By the way, nice meeting you Doug! Like he said, we fished hard, but I didn't even touch a fish. I used bobber/eggs and bobber/jigs all morning. This is my 4th time chasing steelhead in my life and still the record remains ZERO for 4 trips. The good news is I'm learning and I feel more comfortable with each trip. At least, I feel like I'm learning...

I thought for sure I'd catch a steelhead today so I brought my digital camera along. Well, the camera stayed warm in the car.

"All I want for Christmas is a picture with a steelhead." With 9 days remaining, will Santa grant my wish???? Will try again later...

Merry Christmas and Happy Fishing Y'all!!

It was nice to meet you Allen and Doug. I did not touch any thing either I did run across a few but if I would have hooked any of them I would not have been able to land them because of the water, trees and clifs below me. I will look forward to seeing you two out there again. I will be going down next week to take my son crabbing in tillamook. He got back from Irac a few months ago and is stationed in san diego now. He really enjoys crab and I know I can at least get those easyer that a steelhead.

Fished the Wilson this A.M. behind the guide shop. Saw one caught for 6 people. Two drift boats came through from siskeyville and the only fish they saw was the one on the bank at the Guide shop. water looked great and it is still dropping. may try tomorow A.M.
