I did a work up for WA state some time ago. Heres how I did it. I e-mailed the WFWD and asked for data on licences and tags sold. They gladly returned a itemized list of all licences and tags sold this even included non-residents. I got out the regs and did the math.
The numbers will just overwhelm you.
I wish I still had the data, I'd share it.

Hope this helps you out.

Well, it depends on what you consider. We come up with about $14 or $15M in licenses, and another $5M in taxes on fishing gear, etc. Most of the documents given to the public mix hunting license and tag fees with fishing license and tag fees so that it is difficult to sort out.

A report on this number is on its way to me as soon as the new data has been correlated.
I am very interested in reading the report and comparing the numbers historically.

This was supposedly updated Jan 03.

http://www.dfw.state.or.us/IE/pdfs/ECONOM%7E1.PDF

Based on this article licensed hunters make up 8.1% of the OR population and fishers make up 14.9% of the population, for a combined 23% of OR population.

The article states that almost 1 million hunting and fishing licenses and tags were sold last year. At an average cost of say $25 (a low number, but it accounts for those that only purchase 2 day licenses and/or don't purchase harvest tags) and you get roughly 25 million in license revenue.(I am certain it is higher than that though). When you consider as a non resident, I pay roughly $60 to fish and $60 bucks to hunt, plus $300 for a big game tag in OR it really skews those numbers.

Can someone explain to me, where in this document (ODFW's proposed budget) are the fishing and hunting license revenues?

Here is some data from the American Sport Fishing Assn.
http://www.asafishing.org/content/st...l_fishing.html

Shows total economic impact from fishing in OR to be $1.3B.

Data is a little old but compares to other states.
