Default Which downrigger do you prefer? Scotty or Cannon?

I will be purchasing a downrigger soon & would like feedback advice as to which is best.

I will buy an electric one but I'm uncertain which one to buy. Obviously durability & performance are top priorities to consider. Is a Cannon Mag20 really worth the price??

What options should I get?

Don't own any big downriggers, but previous threads have led me the conclusion that if you're in the market for a good offshore downrigger and can afford it, shop around for the best buy on a Scotty Electric. Apparantly you can't go wrong. Good luck!

Had Cannon Mag 20's.....didn't care for them. Have had Scotty's Electric's (2-1105's 1-1100) for the last 6 years and them

With manual ones it's a toss up, electric Scotty is the only way to go.

I own Scottys, but Cannons are nice too.

Get whatever is on sale. They both have lifetime warranties and they both do what they are intended to do.

I run two scotty depth power 30's on my sled. They almost run themselves. Love the heck out of them and a life time warranty to boot. Go with Scotty. Big.
