Drift boat motor choice?

Looking to buy a motor for my drift boat. Would like opinions on honda bf8d vs bf8a.
Have transom cut-out; mount with or without? LS (20") or XL (25")? Other suggestions.....
Dealer for best buy in NW Oregon?

With a cut out you may not need a long shaft. Look at Yamaha too. There is a thread here from surfbum that you should read. Do a search for back threads on your topic.
