Default Steelie Tubes

Jennie I read the article about steelie tubes now I want to know where we can buy them locally. They look like good attractors. What color did you try?

If you guys are talking about the steelhead tube flies, the fly shop in Welches has them on their online store. They're really great at catching both the steelie and the salmon. Very high quality stuff!

Jennie's fishing life article for 12/15 on the main page - center column. Read about the new artificial bait that could be better than the plastic worm.

They aren't tube flies ultrabright, they are like grub bodies. Know a company back east used to make a similar body years ago. I know they used to tip trolling lures up here in Puget Sound years ago with them. Almost like a hootchie.

I just spoke with Outlaw Bait Co. in Florence, OR. They told me that the following stores stock their Steelie Tubes:

Sporty J's in Lake Side near Ten Mile Lake and they will take phone orders and mail them to you. Their number is 1-877-577-6789.

Sportsmans Warehouse in Salem has them too.

You guys are about 15 years behind the trend. I've been catching steelhead on tubes for years!

But now that the cat's out of the bag, I guess I will come clean.... they really do work, but its just another tool to have in your vest. I am amazed at how many so called "new" lures are getting attention these days.

I've used similar tubes for a couple of years. Different colors from pink to chartreuse to black. They haven't set my world on fire. Tried drifting them and under a jig. Zippo, Nada, Nothing. Might be just me an my inablility to catch fish......
