Default Portland Sturgie Report 2/20

Slow day on the CR today. Fished 6 of my usual holes on the Columbia and only boated 1 short. I decided to take a boat ride and fish below St. Johns bridge. About 3:30 or so we anchored in 47 feet of water and started stinging fish. Ended up putting a fat 49 to the boat and about 15 shorts before dark. Had to hunt to find them today but I guess that's the name of the game. I didn't realize how far I was upriver until the boat ride back to the ramp. It took me about 30 minutes to get back to Cathedral.

For those of you going out this weekend, be prepared to do some hunting.

Tight lines.......

Tacklebuster, if it took you 30 minutes from the St. Johns bridge to Cathedral Park, maybe you should get that thing tuned up!!!!! Congrats on the 49"er!

Live4fishing,
Yea we tried a little in the MC but wasn't much happening. Our plan was to hit that area first for some springers but the mud changed our plans. I'll have to give the channel a shot by St. Helens sometime.
