Re: Thought I\'d say hi...
Ampersat, your search was confined to "ifish community" by default. I found his first post in "ifish Flies and Lies". I wish there was a way to search "all forums" at once, but it doesn't appear to be an option.
Cleancut, welcome aboard!

Thought I\'d say hi...
Just thought I'd drop a line, new to the iFish community. I enjoy some of the threads I've read so far and hope to contribute to the catching of Steelies..... though Im still pretty new.
I read a post on the Wilson from rip-a-lip, and thanks for the tips - I hooked up the next time out there and I dont ever fish the Wilson!
Was out yesterday at Eagle Creek and had one on, didnt land it.

Re: Thought I\'d say hi...
Welcome!
One of my friends made the transition from bait to flies, I can't do it but he can put some fish on the bank.
Good luck,
Andy

Re: Thought I\'d say hi...
now that's odd. i just did a search for your introductory fishing story and didn't find one. the funny thing is it shows you with two posts but a search on your member number yields only this post. how'd that happen i wonder??
anyway, let me be the first to demand a fishing story from you!!
welcome aboard.

Re: Thought I\'d say hi...
I wasnt aware that posting a fishing story was a pre-req, but I have a few good ones - heres my favorite......
November on the Siletz, little brother and myself out of camp around 7-7:30 and up to the water. We headed up to a stretch we call the "ol' man" hole. We check it out, Pete's puting on his stank bait, I managed to fling my fly out in the current, strip out two good pulls and WHAM...... fish on. Native, catch and release. We fished that area for about a half hour and decided to head up stream. Not a five minute walk we had a really nice stretch, I told him take it, I'll find the next stretch for myslef. About five minutes later, up from him "fish on". He puts his gear down and helps me land another nate. He didnt have his fly rod, so I let him use mine. He was fishin' the whole run above where I just caught mine for about twenty minutes as I watched and had some munchies. He said he was done, so I asked him to hold on, I'll just take it from ya. I did, as he walked back towards his gear "fish on"!! Needless to say he was quite ****ed...... however he did come back and help me land it. I actually was able to bonk that one!
All in all I had caught the three steelies in about two hours, and the bait man, notta!
Just a little story I like, and will never forget.

Re: Thought I\'d say hi...
Great story. It's always fun to have the hot rod, or in your case, the hot hands. So did your brother toss you in the water after that last fish/ school'n?
Welcome to the board.
