Default Sturgeon fishing in the bay

How do you rig up for sturgon fishing in the bay so that the crabs dont rob you blind. [img]graemlins/1zhelp.gif[/img]

I am not very boat knowledged but when banking I tie a short leader (3 inches) and wrap my bait with egg netting and stretchy thread around thelength of the hook/leader and then tie my lead some 20 or so inches below the hook/bait. no crabs and it is very productive.
