Default Best time to take a fishing vacation

When do you think the best time this spring is to take a weeks vacation. I want to hit the springer run at the prime time either for CR fishing or Willimatette fishing.

I usually take my week of vacation either the 2nd or 3rd week of April. However this year they say the bulk of the Willamette fish will probably be in March. I will keep my eyes open to what is happening and might take it a little earlier this year.

I have to make a decision soon and I am still conflicted, most people prefer to troll a morning incoming tide that puts me the 2nd or 4th week in April. There are good outgoing morning tides the end of March and first of April that would be good for anchor fishing. Predictions say the fish will peak mid march the graphs show mid April. Anyone have any more guidance.

This is a great place.

I was wondering today, when to take my springer vacation this year.

Fishon,

For what it's worth, in talking to the guides at the Sportsman's show to book my guided trips for 2003, most thought that 2003 would be closer to the 2001 timing vs. 2002 timing.

We don't have much of snowpack this year (about 60% after the last storm) and is more like 2001 conditions.

Always a crap shoot but, if they are right, look at the graph for 2001.
