Default Modify jet boat with torpedo tubes & 50 cal.?

I know it hasn't happened yet but if the springer season is shut down because of "Net-Greed", I want to declare war!

Last year I was sooooo miffed, this year I don't think I could stand a re-peat! I don't think I have the confidence of the policy makers to ensure it doesn't happen again.

I was thinking, maybe our fast moving, low-profile jet boats could be modified for "Anti-Net Warfare"?? Could someone weld a bow-lauched torpedo tube on my boat & arm it with rocket launchers or a 50 cal. machine gun?

Or maybe just a big 3ft, razor sharp knife edged blade at the stern below the water line with a spring loaded mount??

Or maybe ........................

I know I'm fantasizing but my boat would look really cool.

channel your anger! The ODFW is accepting comments on the salmon allocation until January 9th, 2004. It is even more important that Washington anglers let the WFWC know your thoughts. The Oregon Commission understands that protection of wild stocks depends on effective protection. Nets don't afford that. Let them hear!

I have Pete. I will continue to write letters & hope to attend meetings too. Sometimes I despair over how the current regime is controlled by cronyism & greed and let my imagination get away from me.

At some point somethings got to give. I just hope it's before it's too late for ESA listed fish. Mistakes are OK if you learn from them & correct your ways. Stupidity is doing it the same way & expecting a different outcome. I get real ticked by stupidity. I pray we do not suffer the same fate as last year during the upcomming springer season.

There is enough derelict gear out in the water. Please don't add any more.

You might want to get the tri-mount MK.44 Mod 1 torpedo tubes. Or the Mk. 46 tube. The modern Mk. 48 torpedo`s are a bit too large to mount on your average sized sled. Also the twin mount 20MM AA would look mighty impressive. Fishft.

There is an inexpensive option. A little C4 placed just below the water line is the way to go. Remember Noriega's boat?!

Fishfeet is the 20mm the one that looks like R2D2? I was on a ship tour in Port Hueneme Ca. when I was in, and those not only looked impressive, they sounded impressive as well! Our military definitely have some cool toys!

Let's just remember that it is not the gillnetter's fault. They are fishing the way that they are authorized to fish. It is the regulatory agencies that determine the method and the impact of that method.

There is nothing essentially wrong with commercial fishing. We have our allocation and they have theirs. That is not likely to change.

The rub comes when their approved method is not closely regulated and their take of ESA fish closes the season. Let's stay focused on the problem.

FishingFirst, Naw, I was thinking of the old style 20mm`s that you gotta stand behind, with the curved shoulder rests and the long belts of ammo. I think the one you`re thinking of are 20mm`s also but are run by computerized fire control. Later, Fishft.

Fishfeet,
Yes I was referring to the computer controlled, used for last defense near the ship I believe. They had dual barrels and would pump out a huge amount of lead in a very short time. Seems like the guy running the tour did a three second burst and called it at about 300 rounds! Pretty amazing technology.

Later,
Scott

Fishingfirst, yeh man , those are kinda like the ones they used to mount on slow moving planes during the Nam thing. They were built like Gatling guns, only a heck of a lot faster. Rotating barrels, tremendous amount of ammo expended in a very short time. Rate of fire sooo fast you can`t hear between the rounds! Sounded like a large cow with a bad case of flatulence.(sp?) Fishft. PS. ASROc might mount on a sled pretty well!

I prefer a Spud Gun. Legal, and organic ammo does not pollute. Caution should be used as a potential chumming ticket could be given out?

Best igniter I have used is a long propane/butane fireplace lighter. You know the ones, red about a foot or so long. Drill ahole in the screw cap and then seal it with epoxy putty. I also like aqua net. Be careful these are wepons. I use a 6 inch chamber and 2 inch muzzle........

The igniter on the one I used was a Coleman twist type igniter. I think it comes with the modern propane lanterns. You just drill a small hole and thread it. The igniter has threads on it and screws right in. You just give the exposed end a twist and KABOOM! Splattered taters. FFt.

Hey Kokanee-K! Those things are fun! Good pic`s. I`ve always used Aqua-net hair spray. Seemed to work good even in cold damp weather. Heard of one idjut over near Silverton tried using lighter fluid as a propellent. He couldn`t figure why he ended up in the hospital. FFt.

Kokanee-K. What were you using for ignition on that critter? Looks like an electronic igniter of some sort. Cool! FFt.
