Default where to put in on the clack???

hey I always hear about the clackamass and to be honest I have always tried to avoid it because of the popularity and all of the fishing presure it gets. However I think I will have to give it a try now just to say I did, where do you all put in??? is it safe in a pontoon boat?

Perfectly safe for pontoon's.There are five ramps to put in at starting at the top there is mciver,Feldheimers,Barton,Carver,Riverside to the mouth.Mciver is not for the novice some big water you might want to walk around.most popular drifts are from barton to carver or carver to riverside lots of good water.Fishing should improve in january. anymore Q's

The great thing about pontoons is if you are ever in doubt about whether you can run a section, they're easy to portage. I'd recommend that you run it with another pontooner who knows the river the first time you go. That said, most of the water is easily runnable and there are only a few places with higher pucker factors.

In my old age..I've come to let the "Die Hards" have the river from daylite til about 11 a.m.

Last couple of years...I'd hit the water for the afternoons, and found the fishing to be just as good, but with alot less pressure and sledder "looky loo's" and joy riders.

Don't think you'll wanna be out there today tho.
