Alsea is expected to go up ~ 12 FEET!, Siletz is forcasted to do about the same. Central coast is not an option. Time to refurbish gear, tie hooks, & count corkies!

The Siuslaw River is forecast to rise above flood stage around 8 PM Today and is expected to crest near 24.5 feet late Tomorrow morning. The Sisulaw River above 22 feet will cause widespread flooding of low lying land. This river historically begins to cover the lower sections of HWY 126 at this stage.

I fished Three Rivers today, and got one BEFORE the river turned to mud. It rose over 2 feet while I was there, so we called it quits about noon. Three Rivers is essentially unfishable. If you fish at your feet, you'll be in the zone with flood stage tactics, and you can catch fish there, but it's going to be tough goings.

It's a good weekend for your honey do list. Make her happy, and get out next weekend.

I too was at 3 rivers today, we left right when the tree landed in our drift. Did anyone see that happen?

The North Fork Alsea was blown early this morning when Tidewater was reading 6.5'. I fished it anyway, and got nothing but muddy/wet. It is now over 12' and expected to go close to 18'. Blown is an understatement.

You can access Alsea and Siletz weather and river info. in one place at http://www.oregonh2o.com

If the rain slows or stops, the N. coast streams should fish by tusday.

On Thursday afternoon I stood on the banks of the Umpqua River and caught 2 steelhead. Now, less than 72 hours later, that very spot is 22 feet under water. Amazing what Mother Nature can do.

ZaQ,

I was there when the tree came down. What an amazing site. It almost took out the guys on the other side of the river. We ended up with fish despite the muddy water. It is going to take a good rain to get that tree out of there!

Zaq,

I was there too. I heard all this whistling going on, looked up river, and here comes a tree! Hopefully, the water raised up more and got that thing out of there. If not, we'll have to have a wood cutting party, or someone needs to hook that up to their four wheel drive and pull it out to the parking lot.

Drove by there yesterday and stopped to see how high the water was, I didnt see any tree at the hatchery hole.

On a side note, the water was high but had good color. It should be fishing good again tomorrow. It will really turn on when the Tuicca clears enough to get the fishing moving up the river again. I have found in the past when the big river is flowing mud, 3 Rivers doesnt have a lot of fish. I think it has something to do with the silt load. Too much silt, the fish dont move.
